OYO STATE PDP HOUSE OF REPS HOPEFUL MAKES CASE FOR BETTER REPRESENTATION FOR NIGERIAN YOUTHS

A Software Technology Consultant cum politician, Lanre Sarumi has advocated more inclusion of young Nigerians in governance for better representation. According to him, the move will contribute to the proposition of youth-centric laws and policies. 

The politician, who’s seeking to represent the Ibadan North-Federal constituency at the House of Representatives, gave this hint in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Tuesday. 

A release signed by O. Sikirula Ibikunle, on behalf of “Skido 2023 Media Team”, quoted Sarumi, a youth-focused politician, as saying that inclusion of young Nigerians in governance will develop the Nation. Expressing confidence in winning at the polls in February, he said the youths were ready more than ever before to take on the older generation. 

Speaking of the forthcoming general elections in Nigeria, Sarumi enjoined the youths to ensure they cast their votes for the right candidates that would make their welfare a priority. 

“I am of the opinion that Nigerian youths deserve better. We need good representation at places that matter, where decisions are being made. This is one of the reasons I want to represent Ibadan North Federal constituency”, he said.

The aspiring lawmaker pledged to create job opportunities, attract investments, and empowerment programmes that will put Ibadan North on the global news and map, through his connections. 

Speaking further, Sarumi added, “Youths are ready to take on the mantle of leadership. I implore the youths not to make themselves available for the political class to use them in fomenting trouble during elections." 

The Ibadan-born consultant, and House of Representatives candidate, is flying the flag of the People's Democratic Party, PDP at the 2023 general elections. 

Unveiling his plans to contest on the PDP platform, Sarumi, popularly called, Skido, said, “I want to leverage my vast knowledge to better my community.” 

Meanwhile, some Ibadan residents have been commending Sarumi's show of love for his people.  Applauding him, some residents of Mokola, said Sarumi's intervention in the education sector was timely in the last quarter. 

A resident, Basirat Akinpelu said she benefited from his distribution of Jamb & WAEC forms last year.
