STOP SLEEPING WITH YOUR HUSBAND TO QUALIFY FOR HOLY COMMUNION, CHURCH TELLS WOMAN

Items for Holy Communion.
A  mother of five children of Umuchu town in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State has been alleged to have heeded the advice of the Priest of her church to stop having sex with her husband in order to qualify for taking the Holy Communion.

Reports have it that the woman (names withheld) got married to her husband nearly two decades ago as second wife, and both have five children. However, recently, she decided to embrace Christianity as a Catholic, but could not take the Holy Communion since, according to the laws of the church, only coupes "properly married" are eligible to partake in the Communion. This made the woman to start denying her husband sex in obedience to her Priest's order to that effect. The Priest was said top have told her that henceforth as a precondition for her eligibility to take the Holy Communion, she must confess her sins, separate from the husband and stop having intercourse with him.

After this, the woman had continued to deny her husband sex, a development that was said to have fueled constant disputes between the couple. It was when family members waded in to unravel the cause of the woman's action that she confessed to be following the orders of her Priest. She argued that since her husband was yet to complete all the married rites, she was not duly married to him regardless of the number of children they have together.

"I do not want to continue to miss God's blessings due to my incomplete marital status. I have been denied the privilege of partaking in the Holy Communion because of this," she was said to have informed family members.

She further explained that since she had lived with him formerly as a wife and had children before she repented, she will stay in his house and take care of his children, but would not longer concur to any sexual relations with him.

Currently, the woman is said to have been ostracized by her husband and her own children who feel disgusted over their mother's action.

According to the laws of the church, couples in polygamous marriages are not eligible to partake in the highly revered Holy Communion in the Catholic Church.
