EDO 2020: APGA’S FLAG BEARER PROMISES TO PUT EDO IN ‘SAFE HANDS’

Engr. Sebastian Iyere
The race to determine who will occupy the Osadebey Avenue, as the Edo State seat of power is called, received a major boost Thursday at emergence of Engr. Sebastian Iyere, an Anglican Reverend.

He received the majority votes cast to beat his opponents in the indirect primary gubernatorial primaries of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, which took place at the Edo Youths House, Benin City, the Edo State capital.

The well travelled engineer had previously indicated interest to run on the platform of African Democratic, ADC, but the lingering intra-party crisis within the party had made him to pitch his tent with APGA through which he hopes to deliver good governance anchored on progressive leadership to the people of Edo State.

“I am particularly humbled by the overwhelming support from various political groups and particularly the orderly manner APGA’s national leadership conducted the exercise,” he said, feeling elated. Continuing, he added, “While I appreciate the mileage thus far, I am aware there is a lot more work to be done. For this reason, we will be reaching out to all the Edo stakeholders in the Edo rebirth project, as seek partnership with all concerned Edo sons and daughters on this mission to put Edo state in safe hands.

“Please permit me to thank Edo youths and women who have been working tirelessly to ensure Edo people are no longer taken for granted and that quality is not compromised. You rock! Your decision is right! I am ready to do your bid!”
