Ernesto Valverde has taken a surprise approach with the former Liverpool forward in that he hasn't been afraid to substitute him in matches.
Suarez explained in an interview with Sport that he can 'get angry' when he 'fails' because of the pressure of 'looking for Messi'. Given his rather poor goal return for the 2017/18 campaign, Suarez is focusing on using the international break to return to full fitness after having rushed a return from a previous ailment.
"I don't think there's been any anxiety. Anxious would be to have the ball and try to beat five players. In that sense, I'm calm. My plan is to rest and recover properly," he admitted.
"After the injury I had, I rushed things with my knee and long-term that can harm you. I had a lot of pressure physically, just making it for the national team and until now there wasn't a break." he insisted on his recent goal drought as reported in MARCA.

On his new boss Valverde, the former Liverpool man said: "Valverde is more relaxed when he speaks to you, he knows how to treat players. The coach knows where I perform best and where I feel comfortable.
"In training sessions you can tell that the staff have played before, the coach has surprised me in a good way." Suarez added.
Valverde's appointment wasn't greeted with much excitement at the time however the former Athletic Club coach has settled into the role wonderfully. He has overseen a fantastic start to the season and Suarez puts that down to the Spaniard's relaxed demeanour.
